Fuss & O’Neill performed the structural, site/civil, roadway, and utility engineering design services for the extension of North Hillside Road on the North Campus at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut.

Initial structural engineering tasks included the preparation of a comprehensive type study to analyze several structure types to minimize the impact of the proposed roadway to existing wetlands in three locations. An order of magnitude construction cost estimate was also prepared for each option at each wetland’s crossing. After consultation with CTDOT, a structure type for each wetlands crossing was selected and designed.
