Water and Wastewater Engineering

Clean, safe, potable water and healthy surface water are the direct result of smart engineering. Fuss & O’Neill’s team of water and wastewater engineers, scientists, and specialists work directly with municipalities, state agencies, private clients, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to assess and maintain existing systems and to introduce efficient, resilient, and modern improvements to ensure that everyone has access to clean water.

Fuss & O’Neill creates customized conveyance, treatment, and management solutions for existing infrastructure and water resource recovery (treatment) facilities. We have particular expertise in urban water supply utilities; nutrient impairments in coastal and remote locations; biological, industrial, and food/beverage wastewater treatment; and in helping our clients achieve project funding.

As our water and wastewater professionals work in conjunction with our resilience experts, our designs are considerate of future climate effects. We provide cost-effective, resilient equipment/site layouts; use new technologies/process treatments, sustainable materials, energy and resource recapture, and reuse concepts; and ensure redundancy for emergency situations. Resource recovery is foremost on our minds as we strive to build systems that harvest rather than dispose of resources, implementing combined heat and power, solar, wind, water reuse, carbon sequestering construction materials, and biogas recovery wherever practical.

We prioritize and dedicate ourselves to these improvements because access to clean and safe water is a basic human right.
