River-Dorr Bridge over Otter Creek

This project consisted of a bridge replacement and replacement of water main and sewer force-main elements onto the new bridge that was situated just downstream from the old crossing. The existing pump station was retrofitted with variable frequency drives (VFD) to adjust flowrates through the new force-main piping. VTrans Structures and Hydraulics Section designed the 278 ft., 2 span, steel structure.

Fuss & O’Neill designed the replacement water and sewer plan alignments and profiles and permitted this utility work through the Department of Environmental Conservation. In addition, approximately 1,300 linear feet of gravity sewer and water were replaced due to the different bridge approach geometry.

Coordination with bridge designers, DEC permitting, water and sewer design, development of special provisions, cost estimating, shop drawing review, consultation during construction phase, and record drawings.
