Providence Journal Building Hazardous Building Materials Services

On behalf of a joint venture between Nordblom Company and Cornish Associates, Fuss & O’Neill provided hazardous building materials consulting services for the redevelopment of the historic Providence Journal building in downtown Providence.

We worked with the project team from pre-acquisition due diligence through building rehabilitation and retrofit to provide comprehensive hazardous building materials consulting services for this prominent five-story, 171,000-square foot building that was constructed in 1934. The rehabilitation project included the consolidation of Providence Journal’s offices within the building and retrofitting remaining spaces for new commercial and retail tenants. Our services included a building materials assessment, asbestos abatement planning, permitting with the Rhode Island Department of Health, and asbestos abatement monitoring.
