Pine Street Reconstruction

Fuss & O’Neill provided the engineering services for 1,000 feet of roadway reconstruction and replacement of existing utilities within a densely populated city street.

Improvements included full-depth roadway reconstruction; replacement of old and deteriorating water, sewer, and drainage piping and structures; and installation of new water and sewer service connections to adjacent properties. This project also included sidewalk replacement and cast-in-place pipe lining of more than 600 feet of cross-country drain and sewer pipes.

The roadway reconstruction included lowering and super-elevation of the existing road profile to improve drainage characteristics ad to ensure that no abutting property impacts occur due to the installation of new granite curbing and sidewalks.

The design of this project was expedited to allow for its inclusion in an existing City project in order to utilize available ARRA funding.

Fuss & O’Neill was responsible for all engineering aspects of this project, and provided both construction administration services and full-time resident engineering during construction. The project was managed under the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services SRF Program process.
