Fuss & O’Neill has been providing dam safety engineering services on an on-call basis to the Massachusetts Office of Dam Safety for many years.

Assignments have included the regular and emergency inspection of 330 dams, follow-up inspection reports, development of emergency action plans, and design of planned and emergency repairs. We developed detailed Phase 1 inspection reports, which included estimates of the costs of design and the repair of deficiencies. We provided training of DEM field staff for maintenance of dams and appurtenant structures.

We are currently assisting emergency inspection of high hazard dams during and after major flooding. We are currently assisting the DCR with construction phase services for two DCR owned dams that we have designed and permitted.
