Library Park Intersection Improvements

Fuss & O’Neill worked with the Town to provide improvements to the traffic signals at three busy intersections. Signal upgrades included installation of new traffic loop detectors, control equipment and cabinets, signals, pedestrian signals, and software upgrades and connectivity with Town offices for signal monitoring.

This project also included construction of ADA compliant curb ramps and sidewalks, the cold planing and overlay of a portion of a high volume local roadway (Derry Street), and replacement and reconstruction of a traffic island. Due to the large traffic volume and unique geometry and interconnective relationship between the three intersections, significant traffic management and coordination was required during design and construction.

We provided improvements to three busy intersections at the following locations: Derry Street (NH Route 102)/ Library Street (NH Route 3A)/ Highland Street; Derry Street/ Chase Street/ Ferry Street (NH Route 111); and Ferry Street/ Library Street.
