The Town of Hopkinton secured funding for master plan development and park improvements to Langworthy Field. Safety and accessibility were challenges that our team overcame during the design of this field.

Our landscape architects developed a prioritized master plan for this park, including upgrades and redesign to an existing playground and a hard court surface area. The project involved implementing a pedestrian walking system, upgrades to parking areas, a new pavilion and tot lot, and electrical upgrades.

Working along with Town representatives, we coordinated with elementary school officials and neighbors to address park access and safety concerns. An accessible path was designed to connect the lower field (15’ below) to the hard court area, while providing access for trucks to maintain the area. Overgrown vegetation was also removed to create open sight lines and space for future court lighting, providing an element of safety to the park.
