Fuss & O’Neill was retained by the Griswold Corporation to complete investigation and remediation activities and bring their Moosup site to closure with a Licensed Environmental Professional verification. The construction of engineered controls and recording of an environmental land use restriction allowed the Griswold Corporation to manage a significant quantity of polluted soil on-site instead of disposing off-site, greatly reducing the cost of remediation.

Remediation activities included the reclassification of groundwater to a less stringent and more appropriate GB classification, as well as removal of free phase petroleum liquids to the extent practicable. We obtained CTDEEP approval for engineered controls at two locations as well as to terminate free product recovery and all groundwater monitoring activities associated with the engineered controls. We prepared and submitted an LEP verification.
