Former Barney Building – Hartford Hospital

Hartford Hospital knocked down the 1930s Barney Building on Jefferson Street to make way for an expanded Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI).

Fuss & O’Neill completed an initial inspection for hazardous materials at the Barney Building and its connection to the current CESI building. Subsequent inspections were completed for soil and adjacent surfaces for polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) contamination. Following the completion of the inspections, a specification was developed for the abatement of hazardous materials from the site.

Fuss & O’Neill also provided project monitoring services during abatement of hazardous materials.
