Facility Management and Permitting

Fuss & O’Neill has managed site investigation and remediation activities at this site under combined RCRA Correction Action/Voluntary Site Remediation Programs.

Fuss & O’Neill oversaw a comprehensive Phase III site characterization and received DEEP approval of an ecological risk assessment of the site. We received EPA approval of a risk-based approach for remediation of PCB impacted soil followed by capping that required sheet pile installation to prevent releases to Cedar Creek.

Regulatory approvals were successfully obtained for the site including Certificates of Permission from DEEP’s Office of Long Island Sound Programs, DEEP approval of soil reuse, and many local permits. Final site-wide remedy selection (CA 400), consisting of DNAPL containment, and construction of an engineered control were approved by DEEP.
