Dartmouth Housing Authority – O’Connor-Sisson House Redevelopment

The Dartmouth Housing Authority partnered with the Women’s Institute for Housing and Economic Development to redevelop a former state police barracks as nine units of affordable housing for homeless veterans or those at risk of homelessness. Project challenges included hazardous building materials and residual environmental impacts associated with historical operation of underground petroleum storage tanks at the site.

Fuss & O’Neill assisted the development team with environmental due diligence, Licensed Site Professional (LSP) services, soil management planning, and hazardous materials abatement activities. The site was historically impacted by a release of petroleum and our evaluation of environmental conditions helped secure project funding by determining that conditions did not pose significant risk to future residents.
