Brownfield Cleanup – Former Hudson Wire Mill

Fuss & O’Neill was retained to complete environmental site investigations and remediation at the Former Hudson Wire Mill in Ossining, New York. Fuss & O’Neill performed environmental site investigations that identified significant metal and solvent contamination at the site, which led to the owner entering the site into New York’s Brownfield Cleanup Program.

Fuss & O’Neill prepared an Alternatives Analysis Report and obtained approval from NYSDEC to address site impacts through the use of a combination of soil removal, groundwater injections for in situ immobilization of metals and in situ biodegradation of chlorinated solvents, and installation of a sub-slab depressurization system (SSDS) to prevent soil vapors from entering the building and a cover system to prevent contact with impacted soil. We have continued to provide ongoing O&M assistance with SSDS, routine groundwater monitoring, and submittal of analytical data to NYSDEC’s EQuIS database.
