As part of a project team led by Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc., Fuss & O’Neill was commissioned to expand the athletic fields at the Berkshire School in Sheffield, Massachusetts.

Athletic field improvements at the Berkshire School included a multi-sport synthetic surfaced field; a combination field hockey and softball field; a girls’ soccer and lacrosse field; and relocating and expanding a varsity baseball field. Fuss & O’Neill was responsible for preparing design documents and environmental permitting services, which involved:

• Delineating approximately 6,000 feet of bordering vegetative wetlands (BVW)
• Relocating a significant drainage swale with water quality, vegetative, and habitat enhancements
• Preparing a Notice of Intent permits application alongside a comprehensive drainage analysis of the project area
• Submitting an Environmental Notification Form (ENF) in accordance with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA)
