Fuss & O’Neill is providing professional services for a hazardous materials assessment and the building demolition design for a former furniture factory and residence in Gardner, Massachuetts.
In addition to testing for hazardous materials (asbestos, lead-based paint, and PCBs in the fluorescent ballasts), Fuss & O’Neill performed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) on site. Our team also prepared demolition plans to address coordination with utility companies for disconnection of existing utilities, protection of nearby structures and features, removal of the building, and restoration of the site.
Existing Site – The now vacant furniture factory is a two-story, 20,000 square foot building, and the residence on the east side of the site is 900 square feet.
Coordination of Demolition – Our team coordinated demolition plans with utility companies and neighbors to ensure the safety of nearby structures and careful restoration of the site.
