Strathmore Mill Redevelopment

Fuss & O’Neill was contracted by the town to evaluate the Strathmore Mill property for possible redevelopment. The Town received a Technical Assistance Grant for this Priority Development Site, located within a historic industrial district where adaptive reuse of buildings is strongly encouraged.

We conducted a comprehensive infrastructure assessment of the site, completed an architectural feasibility analysis for the site redevelopment, and presented concept designs and cost estimates to the Town.

Given the site’s island location, the pedestrian bridge was considered critical to redevelopment; we analyzed refurbishment versus replacement of the bridge to minimize risk for investors. Vehicular access, loading, and parking planning faced tight physical restraints and regulatory requirements, so our team negotiated design alternatives.

The assessment moved the site one step closer to redevelopment, which was considered instrumental to the Town’s economic revitalization.
