Fuss & O’Neill, Inc. has acquired CLD Consulting Engineers, Inc. This acquisition produces a company of nearly 350 engineers, scientists and planners in 11 offices throughout New England. This growth has been part of both companies’ long-term strategic plans, and the acquisition was nearly a year-long process. Both companies wanted to ensure that this combining of expertise would benefit their clients, and they are confident that it will.
Over the past 90 years, Fuss & O’Neill has established itself as a leader in land development, traffic/transportation, water resources, environmental services, and facilities engineering. Combining CLD’s expertise in highway and bridge design, traffic/transportation services, municipal engineering and private development, produces a company well-equipped to solve the challenges of public and private clients throughout New England.
“We are excited about the possibilities of this evolution,” said Fuss & O’Neill president and CEO Peter Grose. “The professionals at CLD have earned their firm well-deserved respect amongst their clients and peers, and we look forward to welcoming them to the Fuss & O’Neill family. Together we will further Fuss & O’Neill’s mission of creating works of life.”
The two firms share many similarities: both have dedicated themselves to bettering their communities and both believe that the job is never finished until the client is completely satisfied.
CLD CEO Chris Bean said, “We recognized from our first meeting with Fuss & O’Neill that our cultures and visions were closely aligned, as both firms emphasize long-term client relationships and a reputation for quality and integrity. Together we will expand the services we offer our clients and provide greater opportunities for our employees’ careers.”
The acquisition, which establishes office locations in each of the six New England states, creates opportunities to strengthen new communities, to restore additional bodies of water, and to reinvent once-blighted spaces. Clients can expect the same level of personal and dedicated attention, with the added benefit of extended services.
“Our clients remain our priority. We’re excited that we can now offer additional services and we look forward to creating new relationships. We’ve dedicated ourselves to improving the communities of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, and are intrigued by opportunity to offer this dedication to the communities of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont,” said Grose.
The two companies will combine business operations in the coming year.
With a staff of more than 280, the firm collaborates on projects from offices in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and South Carolina. Fuss & O’Neill delivers a comprehensive suite of services across the breadth of scientific, engineering, planning, and design disciplines.
