Chuck Harlow, PE has been appointed to the American Council of Engineering Companies of Connecticut (ACEC/CT) Board of Directors. As a member of the seven-person board, Chuck will help direct the efforts of ACEC/CT, ensuring that infrastructure in the state of Connecticut is given proper consideration.

Chuck, a 30-year veteran of the Connecticut Department of Transportation, joined the consulting side of the business with Fuss & O’Neill a little over a year ago. His appointment to the ACEC/CT Board will have him drawing on both of these perspectives. “The consultant community needs to thrive so that infrastructure can thrive. It takes the combined efforts of local government, government agencies, private companies, and consultants to envision, design, and implement infrastructure improvements that benefit the community at large.”

As a member of the Board, Chuck will work with subcommittee members to bring programs to the transportation community, increase awareness and membership for early-career professionals and students, and ensure environmental needs are conveyed and implemented. Chuck enjoys the variety of topics that ACEC/CT discusses. “The environment is open and people feel free to share ideas. From this open communication, we can really make a difference in our state.”

A typical term on the Board of Directors is four years. Chuck’s term began in September.
