Fuss & O’Neill Welcomes New Owners

Fuss & O’Neill is proud to announce that the firm has added five new owners. This brings the number of employee shareholders to 26.

John Byatt, PE, is a professional structural engineer registered in five states. He has led the Bridge Team for the firm’s Northern New England Region for the past 13 years. John is widely respected for his technical expertise and his clients have appreciated his effective management of their complex bridge projects. In addition to his role as owner, John was also promoted to Transportation Business Line Leader.

JoAnn Fryer, PE, has worked for the company for more than 25 years. A structural engineer, she established the Maine DOT Bridge Team and took over management of the York, Maine office in 2002. More recently she became Quality Control Manager. She is highly respected by colleagues and clients alike for her excellent communications, facilitation, and problem-solving skills. In addition to her role as owner, JoAnn has been promoted to Office Manager of Fuss & O’Neill’s Manchester, New Hampshire office.

Robert May, Jr. has served as President of Fuss & O’Neill EnviroScience, LLC for the past 5 years of his 25 years in the hazardous building materials practice. Bob’s architectural background, combined with his intimate knowledge of scientific and regulatory aspects of asbestos, lead, and PCBs, have made him a sought-after expert in his field. In addition to his role as owner, Bob will now serve as leader of Fuss & O’Neill’s entire Environmental Business Line.

Kathy Nanowski, CPSM, is the Director of Marketing and Business Development at Fuss & O’Neill. She has played a lead role in transforming the firm’s marketing and sales practices in her seven years at the firm, instituting consistent, proactive approaches to relationship-based business development. Kathy has helped the firm use more data-driven processes, a subject upon which she has written and spoken about at both the regional and national levels. She recently completed a term as President of the Connecticut Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services.

Maggie Snape, PHR, has served as Director of Human Resources for Fuss & O’Neill for the past six years, where she has been responsible for all aspects of human resource management. She has been an invaluable partner in planning and executing acquisitions and integrations, and has been a primary architect in refinements to the firm’s organizational structure. Maggie is a strong advocate for the professional and career development of Fuss & O’Neill’s employees and has established an Emerging Leaders Program at the firm. She has also served on regional and national panel discussions on a range of human resources topics.
