Fuss & O’Neill to Support Central Mass Regional Planning Commission Regarding U.S. EPA-funded Regional Brownfield Redevelopment Program

The Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) has received U.S. EPA brownfields funding to implement a regional program to provide reuse planning and assessment activities for brownfield sites throughout the 40 communities of the CMRPC Region. They have teamed with Fuss & O’Neill to implement the Brownfields program. Fuss & O’Neill brings a comprehensive suite of brownfields revitalization and property engineering capabilities and has a long history of collaboration and innovation with redevelopment clients and the U.S. EPA Brownfields Program. They are available to help property owners, local businesses, and municipal representatives conduct assessment and planning activities to help revitalize underutilized real estate assets in the region.

According to Fuss & O’Neill Project Manager John Chambers, “The CMRPC Brownfields program will help revitalize and increase the economic vitality of entire neighborhoods and not just individual properties, which can yield far more return on investment to communities. We are excited to partner with CMRPC on this important program in the region.”

These grant funds may be used to provide proponents of potential Brownfield properties with the engineering, planning, permitting, and environmental assessments required by developers, financial institutions, and public agencies to implement property redevelopment refinancing and development project permitting. If property owners or other project proponents wish to nominate a site as part of the Brownfields Program, please contact Project Manager Andrew Loew at CMRPC or visit www.cmrpc.org/brownfields.
