Groundwater Remediation System Design and Permitting

Fuss & O’Neill was contracted to perform design and permitting services for a groundwater remediation system to accommodate dewatering for utility splice chambers and related improvements installed on Grand Avenue in New Haven, CT.

The system was design to treat more than 80,000 gallons/day of potentially contaminated groundwater generated during a critical upgrade of the utility infrastructure. Our team obtained coverage under an NPDES permit for the system, which was issued by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).

Fuss & O’Neill worked with the DEEP permit engineer to obtain fast turnaround on the permit applications. Our team also performed monitoring and reporting in accordance with the permit conditions.
