Pequonnock Substation Survey

In response to the relocation of its Pequonnock Substation, United Illuminating Company contracted Fuss & O’Neill to provide survey services in support of identified coastal flooding mitigation solutions.

We provided field surveying and mapping for United Illuminating’s Coastal Substation Flooding Mitigation Project and for subsurface utility engineering improvements along multiple streets downtown Bridgeport in the vicinity of the substation. With the goal of creating a current subsurface utility engineering basemap to be utilized for the subsequent ALTA/NSPS, Subdivision, and Supplemental Topographic surveys, we utilized new aerial photogrammetry to prepare a topographic survey and wetlands delineation for the 109-acre site. Subsequently, using our updated ALTA/NSPS survey, we prepared a proposed subdivision map for a new 2.5-acre parcel to be conveyed out of the adjacent land.

To facilitate relocation of the substation and associated 115 kV and 345 kV underground transmission lines, we performed a topographic survey of a five-acre parcel of land. Additionally, we performed subsurface utility engineering and mapping.
