Fuss & O’Neill Design Build Services worked with the Corporation for Independent Living to redevelop the brownfield site formerly known as Kenyon Mills. The project included design, permitting, environmental remediation and construction of infrastructure for the new complex.

We developed a remedial action plan addressing contaminates from past manufacturing activities, and submitted a dam improvement plan to the CTDEEP to rectify the failing dam which holds back the five acre pond.

The project involved the demolition of existing structures, installation of underground utilities and stormwater system, connection to the local sewer through a new pump station and force main, connection to the water service, fire protection water services and back-up generators. We oversaw the construction of roadways and parking areas and installation of the building foundations.

The redevelopment transformed a former industrial site into 38 condominium units overlooking the historic mill pond.
