Hazardous Building Material Inspection and Testing, Martin Luther King, Jr. School

Fuss & O’Neill provided hazardous building material consulting services to facilitate the demolition of the Martin Luther King Jr. School in Cambridge.

Our team performed a hazardous building material inspection and testing services for asbestos, lead paint, and PCBs. Our testing identified the presence of asbestos and a significant amount of PCBs. We ended up collected 20,000 PCB samples and had four full-time Project Monitors on-site to verify PCB cleanup.

Fuss & O’Neill developed technical abatement design specifications for the removal of identified building materials. We also developed a risk-based disposal approval plan for the PCB remediation waste. In additional we provided construction administration and project monitoring services during abatement activities for verify adherence to technical specifications.
