Fuss & O’Neill collaborated on the site and roadway design for a new 10-story office, lab, and retail building, and its associated garage. Located in downtown New Haven near the Yale medical campus, there was the added challenge of addressing several major transportation corridors that converge around the site.

Landscape architects and transportation engineers teamed up on the design, featuring innovative elements that included rainwater infiltration planters, living walls and green screens on the garage, and a green roof. The area was further enhanced by wide shaded sidewalks with paver accent banding and elevated planters, and the addition of an outdoor café.

The project incorporated safe and comfortable routes for all modes of transportation into a design that brought vibrancy and appeal to the surrounding streetscape.
