Chatfield-LoPresti Elementary School

Fuss & O’Neill assisted in the development of a remediation plan for Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) at the Chatfield Elementary School.

Substrates and surfaces adjacent to caulking determined to contain PCBs in concentrations greater than 50 parts per million underwent additional testing. Air quality and wipe sampling for PCBs were also performed on the school’s interior.

A self-implementing, on-site clean-up and disposal plan was designed and submitted to the New England Region 1 office of the Environmental Protection Agency. Fuss & O’Neill also developed detailed technical specifications for major renovations to the school.
