TPM/ Maintenance Excellence

A major lumber company is developing and formalizing their process for improvement, developing their Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) skills, increasing their Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and improving their in-house downtime tracking for their three mills in Casco, Bethel, and Pittsfield, Maine.

By incorporating TPM into their process, Hancock Lumber has increased productivity in all three of their mills. In the Casco mill alone, by using TPM they have manufactured over 300,000 linear feet more lumber in Quarter 1 of 2018, than in Quarter 1 of 2017. This has improved communications between operations and maintenance, while significantly reducing downtime across the board.
