We have been commemorating our valued client relationships at our annual “Open House” since the tradition began in 2000, marking the company’s 75th anniversary.  The annual event is celebrated on the lawn of the historic Cheney Building, the company’s headquarters and the very same building that our founder, Hayden Griswold, first worked in as a surveyor for the Cheney Silk Mills.  In celebration of our 90 years of business, Fuss & O’Neill welcomed over 150 clients this year.

In 1924 Hayden Griswold, a surveyor for the Cheney Silk Mills, started his own survey company out of his home in Manchester, CT. Griswold Services remained a small family business until the 1970’s, when the company began to branch out into other disciplines such as civil and environmental engineering. The company now has a staff of close to 250 and provides a comprehensive suite of services across the breadth of scientific, engineering, planning and design disciplines.

State Senator Steve Cassano presented an official citation of the State of Connecticut’s General Assembly in recognition of the 90th Anniversary.  In addition, Manchester Mayor Jay Moran presented an official proclamation, noting that Fuss & O’Neill has been a valued employer in the town since 1924.
