Fuss & O’Neill Design Build helped develop an outdoor soccer complex located on the site of a former gravel pit. There were several concerns that the property’s stormwater runoff affected a nearby public water well.
We assisted in the development of mitigation and stormwater management plans that utilize a self-contained retention pond. Pervious surfacing reduced runoff and artificial turf was chosen to avoid fertilizers and pesticides.
Our team facilitated the grading of 14 acres, relocation of 14,000 cubic yards of on-site material, installation of utilities, and importation of drainage material. The fields underwent laser grading in preparation for turf placement. We also implemented an erosion and sedimentation plan to protect adjacent natural resources.
The expedited project minimized disruption to the surrounding environment and was finished in time for the upcoming season. The complex includes two fields, parking, training facilities and potential for future expansion.
