Fuss & O’Neill provided expedited design and construction administration services to provide sewers in the Gateway Design Development Zone.
The project included a submersible pump station, approximately 7,900 feet of gravity sewers, 4,200 feet of force main, and 2,200 feet of low pressure sewers. In order to ensure timely sewer service to the proposed development, the project was split into separate contracts. Our team coordinated an I-84 bridge crossing, a Skungamaug River crossing through bridge wingwalls, and a connection to the proposed high school project.
We oversaw open cut sewer depths in excess of 25 feet in sandy soils along state roads, and installation adjacent to fiber optic utility ductbanks in bedrock.
Our fast track design and rigorous construction schedule allowed the project to be completed in time for the proposed economic development.
