4 September, 2007 - As part of Sikorsky's strategy to reduce the use of potentially polluting industrial solvents, the company took Schweizer's trichloroethene-related equipment offline and hired the Connecticut-based engineering firm of Fuss & O'Neill to determine the extent of the pollution on the property.

22 February, 2007 - Kevin Conroy, project manager from Fuss & O’Neill, the civil and environmental engineering firm hired by the town’s Department of Public Works (DPW) to address traffic problems, presented a plan to the Board of Selectmen at its Feb. 14 meeting.

A technician dragged the device around the garage floors, upper and lower; in a shed; and in parts of the backyard. The device captured electronic images that will be examined by experts at Fuss & O'Neill, a Manchester engineering firm, and police.

 

Don Wilson of Fuss & O'Neill, who operated the device, said it spotted several anomalies 6 feet to 7 feet beneath the concrete floor.



Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection Clarifies Underground Storage Tank Exemption


17 August, 2006 - Late last year CTDEP issued a notice to owners of petroleum or oil USTs, clarifying their interpretation of the exemption for existing oil or fuel tanks of less than 2,100 gallons capacity.
